How to Pack Cargo Safely for International Air & Ocean Transport

Proper packaging protects your cargo during international transit, terminal handling, and air/sea transport. Good packing prevents damage and optimizes dimensional volume.

1. Selecting Strong Packaging Materials

• Heavy-Duty Double-Wall Corrugated Boxes: Standard thin boxes can collapse under weight during stacking.
• Bubble Wrap & Foam Cushioning: Wrap individual fragile items separately with at least 2 inches of protective cushioning.
• Heavy-Duty Pressure Taping: Seal all box seams securely using H-taping method with strong packing tape.

2. Weight Distribution & Volume Optimization

• Place heavier items at the bottom of the box and lighter items on top.
• Fill empty box voids with packing peanuts or crumpled paper to prevent internal movement.
